    Hi, I have a 2001 Y plate Mk2 Punto 1.2 8v ELX

Am midway through upgrading my Central Locking to Remote CL and have got some problems:

I have power to the locking control box as when the key fobs are pushed you can hear the relays in it working. The problem is that I am not sure what coloured wires in the Punto fuse box are the LOCK and UNLOCK ones.

Have been told some colours by another person who has done this but after trying to get it working I am now not 100% sure if they are correct.

The other problem which could mean that the wires are correct is if the CL system is a positive trigger/switch or a negative trigger/switch.

Have only tried negative so far because if the wires are the wrong ones and i try positive i may run the risk of blowing something in the car.

Any help on this at all would be much appreciated?

    Cheers.

    Alright mate,

Im not sure what trigger system it is, but i dont think that matters tbh. Just wire the earth's up, then the power like in the guide and if its not working then it most likely will be the wire's in the fuse box, for the locking and unlocking of the car.

Maybe stick could have some information about the wiring of your car as he works for fiat.

And in the meantime, ill try scower the internet for some more wiring information.

    Hi,

I have done it all now and it is all working. It is a negative trigger and the best way to find out the locking and unlocking wires is to take the clips out of the 40 pin connector and they are all labelled. 24 is unlock and 34 is lock.

cheers for all the help anyway guys

Can you please tell me for the lock and unlock wires; are the wires from remote locking device connected to these wires? To be sure, the wires on the black connector with red clip, must not be cut down??

In the mean time I got the centrol locking working with remote control.
I need to get the indicators lights work. With pin 3 and 13 only 2 indicator lights do flashing?

How can I get all the indicator lights flashing on lock - unlock ?
